I’m Maria Jose, founder of Ancestro 1926 Colombian Coffee.
This company is my personal mission, born from a desire to honor my great-grandfather, Carlos Enrique Rivera. Near Timaná, Huila, he cultivated his farm with profound care, and that devotion to specialty coffee remains our guiding inspiration. Ancestro 1926 reconnects me to my family's deep roots, traditions, and the hardworking coffee producers of this renowned region.
For me, coffee is a powerful form of connection—it is story, legacy, and soul in a cup. Through our brand, I aim to share the authentic stories of Huila’s finest beans and bring that heritage to the world, one carefully sourced bag at a time.

Carlos Enrique Rivera's commitment extended far beyond his farm. As a representative for Southern Huila of theNational Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC), he not only helped local producers improve the quality of their beans but also actively shared his extensive knowledge of the coffee production process with growers. This legacy of collaboration and coffee education remains a core pillar of Ancestro 1926.
